It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

Hey Fledglings,

(This review will discuss the “twist” that takes place halfway through the novel!)

As a diehard fan of Colleen Hoover I was expecting to enjoy It Ends With Us but even I am surprised at how much I love this book. It’s everything a classic Hoover novel is: funny, romantic, moving and down right heart wrenching! However, there is something about this book, something about the subject matter which just makes it so much more important than a romance.

Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige

Stealing Snow by Danielle Paige

Hey Fledglings,

Today I will be reviewing Danielle Paige’s Stealing Snow. Many of you may be familiar with Paige from her popular series Dorothy Must Die. I, myself, have not read Paige before but was excited to see what she had to offer. I have noticed that quite a few fairy tale re-workings have become popular recently. I personally enjoyed Naoimi Novik’s Uprooted as well as Marissa Meyer’s The Lunar Chronicles. I was excited to read about a re-telling of the Ice Queen, rather than Beauty and the Beast or Cinderella. Also coming from a post- Frozen world, Paige has pretty much guaranteed some commercial success.

Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs

Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs

Hey Fledglings!

Sorry it has been a hot minute since my last post! I’m in the middle of reading a couple of different books at the moment and this is the one I finished first! After seeing the Mercy Thompson series come up in my recommendations so many times, I could no longer ignore them so I decided to give Patricia Briggs a go. After reading so much paranormal fiction, I thought I would turn to, who many consider to be, the queen of this genre. Continue reading “Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs “

The Farm by Emily McKay

The Farm by Emily McKay

¡Hola Fledglings!

Today I am reviewing Emily McKay’s The Farm. I read this book when it first came out in 2012 and I remember really enjoying it. I had even bought the second novel to read but in the year it took for the second book to be published, I had forgotten the details of the plot. I’m one of those people who loves to re-read books, but often don’t because I remember too much of the plot to properly enjoy them, but not enough to go on to the next in the series in case it left me ignorant of important plot points. Silly, I know. Anyway it has been 4 years and it is safe to say that I didn’t remember any of the plot beyond the basic premise. It definitely felt like picking up a book I had never read before.

The Farm follows identical twins Lily and Mel as they fight for survival after the ‘apocalypse’. The undead, Ticks, have desolated North America, resulting in the surviving teenagers being rounded up and held in camps called Farms. Continue reading “The Farm by Emily McKay”
